I'm not sure why anyone would volunteer for punishment, but these pain, screams, and agony is very, very real.

High school students at Barberton High in Ohio were taking a career tech education course in criminal science, and volunteered to be pepper sprayed.

The superintendent said the teens were only subjected to a "small amount" for a short period of time...and yes, students were required to get permission from parents before they could do it.

Yes, parents agreed to having their children subjected to this.

The permission statement states that the instructor is a former police chief, and an experienced professional.

He makes it pretty "real" by shouting "Stop resisting, please comply" as he sprays them.

The students didn't get extra credit for this, as some reports said, but according to the school, they "had an opportunity to gain an industry recognized credential in the law and public safety course curriculum that is offered by the Ohio Department of Education."

What do YOU think?  Should the school have been allowed to do this?

Would YOU be willing to sign off on this form?
