Buffalo, NY is among the "Best Northeast Getaways for Art Lovers", according to Getaway Mavens.

Buffalo is home to the Albright-Knox Museum as well as the Burchfield-Penney Art Center. Formed in 1862, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery is "especially rich in post-war American and European art". The collection features art through the centuries, including Impressionism and post-Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, Constructivism as well as other trends of the twenties and thirties. Burchfield-Penney Art Center is "dedicated to the art and vision of Charles E. Burchfield and distinguished artists of Buffalo, Niagara and Western New York".

To top it off our town is also host to several Frank Lloyd Wright homes. Wright is responsible for the Martin House Complex at 125 Jewett Parkway, which is among the of the largest of Wright’s "Prairie-style" houses.

 

The George Barton house, located at 118 Summit Avenue, was the first of Wright’s Buffalo buildings completed. Gardener’s Cottage, at 285 Woodward Avenue, is also among Wright's Buffalo achievements as are the Walter V. Davidson house, at 57 Tillinghast Place, and the William R. Heath house, at 76 Soldiers Place. Graycliff, at 6472 Old Lake Shore Road, was built between 1926 and 1931and is set on a cliff overlooking Lake Erie.

 

Corning, NY, which features the Corning Glass Works factory, as well as West Point, NY, which features Storm King Art Center, are also on the list of the Northeast's Best Getaways for Art Lovers.
