Where All the Men at? The Women of Australia are Left Feeling Lonely

Finding your true love has always been a difficult feat, but female singles in Australia’s busy metropolitan areas are facing an extreme case of the lonelies. The reason: a lack of eligible men.
Cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are undergoing what’s being referred to as a “man drought,” forcing young twenty and thirtysomething women to flock to the countryside in hopes of finding suitable bachelors.
Various dating companies, including “Thank Goodness He’s a Country Boy,” have taken advantage of the male shortage. For a fee, they shuttle women into neighboring rural areas to introduce single cosmopolitan ladies to farmers and the like. So far, such companies have been highly successful.
