Andrew Shaefer clubbed a key bases clearing, 3-RBI double in the fifth inning to push West Seneca past the Saratoga Stampede 5-3 in Saturday's New York State American Legion Championship Game at Murnane Field in Utica, NY.

From there, lefty Joel Krywcun came on in relief in the bottom of the inning and pitched the final five innings, earning his second win this week and tournament MVP honors.

It is the second state crown for West Seneca, coached by Karl Malkowski. Leadoff hitter Joseph Milkowski had a hit, walk and scored twice, while Matthew Sokolski had two hits including a double, and a run scored.

Saratoga's Jake Fauler had two hits and scored. Danny Coleman, Zach Guzi and Codie Brown each had a hit and an RBI.
