Happy Veteran’s Day Weekend!

I am blessed to have grown up with so many people in my life that have served our great country.  For me I loved looking at old pictures of my Grandfather in his Military Uniform.  Yes the man in the picture for this blog is my Grandfather.  He was truly the most amazing man I have even had the honor of knowing.  He fought in World War II and I would spend hours just hearing all the stories.  Spend some time today sitting with a Veteran and hearing all of their amazing stories.  Whether they were in World War II, Iraq, Vietnam, anywhere, just listen to how truly amazing these people are for sacrificing their lives in order for us to be free.  From the bottom of my heart I thank you all for your service.

In honor of those Veterans I feel it is only right to take them out and about around town and show them the time of their life!  Seriously one day is not enough but it’s a start!

Tomorrow at the Buffalo Zoo they are offering High Five for the Military.  You may think it’s just another boring day at the zoo but think about the last time some of these men and women had the chance to leisure walk around enjoy some fascinating animals!  They are pulling out all the stops for the Veterans today too at the Zoo.  Members of the United States Military and up to four additional guest will be admitted into the Zoo for just $5!  Remember if you’re going to this to bring along your valid military Id because you’ll have to present it at the admission gate to receive the discount.  Let the Buffalo Zoo and the animals at the zoo show you how much they are thankful for you service!

Another amazing event happening tomorrow for Veteran’s Day is happening over at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Starting at8:30 am they welcome everyone to come out for their Veteran’s Day Commemorative Ceremony and Service.  The ceremony will open with the placing of American Flags on the graves of veterans interred in Forest Lawn’s Field of Valor and in the Erie County American Legion Veteran’s Section.  Afterwards the service will continue with invocations, recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and placing of wreaths.  The ceremony will then conclude with the gun salute, blowing of Taps and more.  It really is amazing and beautiful ceremony so definitely try to catch this event tomorrow.

To all you Veteran’s out there thank you for your service!
