Did anyone else realize that it snowed this week? Crazy, right?

I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but I had to scratch my head and wonder what people were thinking during our first spring snowstorm of the season.

It took me forever to clean off my car, the commute was terrible, etc. etc. Whatever. It happens. Do I like it? Hell no. I sometimes wonder why I still live here and how I have (some) of my sanity.

What threw me for a loop was the news later that night. Each station sent out their reporters to get the community’s reaction. Imagine my surprise when people were complaining because they had already put away their shovels and snow blowers.

In March, really?

Really?!

Sure, the calendar says spring, but we live in Western New York. The same Western New York that has seen snow well beyond the first day of spring. (On my college graduation – in mid-May – it snowed.)

So while Mother Nature may be a big “B,” we all should know better by now. And I’m sure this isn’t the last of it.

Happy shoveling.
