We've heard this song and dance from Brett Favre before, twice to be exact. But this time, the retirement rumors swirling around the Minnesota Vikings' Quarterback might actually be true. Sources have told FOX Sportsthat Favre has filed retirement papers that would end his 20 year career in the NFL.

Could Favre's off-the-field troubles also be behind his retirement? The QB's reputation was compromised when inappropriate photos he sent to TV personality Jenn Sterger were leaked to sports blog Deadspinand, more recently, when two massage therapists for Favre's former team the New York Jets, filed a lawsuit over lewd text messages. If Favre does walk of the football field for good, will fans remember him as a great quarterback or a man with a series of scandals no one will soon forget?
