One of the most memorable characters in film over the last 20 years is "The Dude" in the Cohen Brothers film the Big Lebowski and you can see it again on the big screen tonight. Somehow I missed this movie when it first came out. I didn't see it until two weeks ago on an AMC marathon, and it had all those Mother Crunchin Lame Ash TV edits. So I'm kinda jazzed to see it the way it was supposed to be seen.   I didn't realize how funny and twisted this movie was. Now I understand why it is a cult classic.

So if you've been living under a rock like me and haven't seen the Big Lebowski or just want to experience it again on the big screen you have to get out to the Amherst Dipson Theater tonight and catch it on the big screen. It's 8 bucks and it helps to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You can even dress like "The Dude" to make it more fun. The event started in Philly 6 years ago and like most things, finally made it to Buffalo. Organizers are also planning a 'Dude Hates Cancer' bowling tournament on June 30 and you can sign up for the tournament tonight at the Dipson. What a great idea, a bowling fundraiser in Buffalo!!!  That's a slam dunk.

And in case you were wondering, Jeff Bridges endorses these wacky 'Dude' events and will donate autographed memorabilia for the Bowling tournament. Should do a lot to help out Leukemia research and care. Crazy to think that Bridges almost didn't make this film. Check out his PBS interveiw below Mother Truckers!
