The Black Keys at Artpark Tonight
One of the most highly anticipated concerts of the summer is here tonight. The Black Keys are an American blues rock duo based out of Akron, Ohio. They are on tour promoting their 6th studio album Brothers released in 2010. This critically acclaimed album landed the band with 5 Grammy nominations and 3 wins including best recording package, best alternative music album, and best rock performance by duo or group with vocal for the song “Tighten Up”. This highly anticipated show will surely blow away the audience tonight.
Although the duo has been around for a decade, their success has reached its pinnacle in the last couple years. Their songs have been featured in mainstream entertainment more and more recently. Their song “I’ll Be Your Man” is the theme song for the HBO series Hung. “Breaks” was featured in the 2008 film RocknRolla. Their music has also been featured in the TV show Sons of Anarchy, and the movies School of Rock, I Love You, Man, and about a dozen more.
The band seems to be growing in popularity day by day and the opening act, Cage the Elephant, is also likely to rouse the crowd at Artpark. This concert sold out very early so if you were one of the lucky ones to jump on it quickly, nice work. If you don’t have tickets, tough luck. Try to scalp or wait for the next performance because this is sure to be an epic night at Artpark.
