Black Sabbath mastermind Tony Iommi looks back on the accident that cost him two fingertips — and inadvertently helped birth heavy metal — in a new interview with VH1.
Black Sabbath got a little extra help from the hit CBS series 'CSI' when they released their '13' album, with the show working the band into an episode that found them premiering a song from the new LP.
With a new tour and album just around the corner, there are some very busy days ahead for the guys in Black Sabbath. But until then, there's time for reflection, and during a recent interview with 'Birmingham Mail,' guitarist Tony Iommi opened up about the band's new music, as well as the cancer diagnosis that nearly sidelined him just as it was all coming together.
Armenian rockers Dorians will take the Tony Iommi-penned 'Lonely Planet' to the Eurovision Song Contest in May. The song's music video -- along with videos for the other 38 entries -- has been made available to fans of the band, of Black Sabbath and the international song contest, now in its 58th year.
Few bands would turn down having Tony Iommi backing them up, and soon more bands will get the chance. The Black Sabbath guitarist has a treasure trove of riffs laying around, unused, in his studio. Queen's Brian May has inspired Iommi to put them to good use.
