We are just a little over a month away from the debut release from the Black Star Riders. If the name doesn't immediately ring some bells, the group has some real weight in its ranks. The band is comprised of Ricky Warwick, Scott Gorham, Damon Johnson and Marco Mendoza, all of whom are also members of Thin Lizzy. The band is rounded out by Jimmy DeGrasso on drums.
Good news - Season 12 of ‘That Metal Show’ has been confirmed and several classic rockers have made the short list for guest spots over the eight new episodes. The guests dropping by the TMS studio throughout the season run the gamut from classic rockers to brand new members of some veteran acts, offering a balance of musical tastes.
On March 4, 1983, Thin Lizzy released what would end up being their final studio LP, 'Thunder And Lightning.' Two years earlier, band leader Phil Lynott brought in guitarist John Sykes to replace Snowy White and join the core band of Lynott, guitarist Scott Gorham and the ever-loyal Brian Downey on drums.
In a rather surprising move intended to show respect for their late original frontman Phil Lynott, the members of Thin Lizzy have announced an end to regular touring -- as well as recording -- under the band name.
For the first time in nearly 30 years, Thin Lizzy will release new music. Guitarist Scott Gorham says the group is working on new songs with an eye on a new album, the first without founder and original vocalist Phil Lynott, who died in 1986.
