Stop us if you’ve heard this one before – an actor may have misled us about their return to a major TV series. Yes, despite repeated denials that one Westworld star would be saddling up for another trip to the park, the actor in question now confirms that the Man in Black will return to his greener days.

Most of us are content to wait for Game of Thrones Blu-rays to enjoy actors’ commentary, but – if you’re Brad Pitt and have the cash – you go for the real thing. The actor reportedly bid upwards of $120,000 to watch an episode of the HBO fantasy drama with none other than the Khaleesi herself.

Because what better time than a winter storm for ominous Game of Thrones news? That dreadful day has finally arrived, as HBO confirms the eighth and final season will sit out 2018 altogether, finishing its adapted Song of Ice and Fire in 2019.

Game of Thrones employs the occasional subterfuge to thwart spoilers. HBO even hinted at multiple Season 8 endings for exactly that purpose, but a new report suggests not only that cast aren’t certain which ending will air, but also that HBO wants them quiet on social media.

The nature of Westworld’s time-turning twist made it unlikely certain Season 1 characters would return, but prepare for a blast from the past. A dangling thread from the finale may yet be resolved in Season 2, now that at least one major character is returning.
