During a 9/11 tribute at the US Open on Sunday, 58-year-old pop icon Cyndi Lauper suffered a similar fate, flubbing the line that’s supposed go “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming” by instead singing “O’er the ramparts we watched, as our flag was still streaming.”

Lauper, who is on a world tour, wasn’t the only traveler stranded and emotions were running high as cancellations and delays began to accumulate. To defuse the tension, the 57-year-old singer commandeered one of the airport microphones and led a sing-a-long of her ’80s classic “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” as well as other hits form her career.
