It was one year ago today that Terry Pegula was announced as the new owner of the Buffalo Sabres. I can remember how I felt when Terry uttered the words "starting today the sole purpose of the Buffalo Sabres is to win the Stanley Cup".
Buffalonians are nice. Too nice. We tend to accept all people, no matter their flaws. I’m not 100% on this, but I’m pretty sure this is why our sports teams are suffering so badly.
Now, I’ve never been in charge of a sports team, but I know if I did as poor of a job as some players, coaches and GMs, I’d be unemployed

The latest rumblings coming from the First Niagara Center are that Ryan Miller is experiencing whiplash and concussion symptoms. The fans will get what they want, the chance to see young goaltender Jhonas Enroth take a lead role between the pipes.
It took me a little while to get over the horrifying performances in Buffalo sports this weekend, but I am finally ready to talk.

November 1, 2011 Buffalo takes a pretty serious amount of criticism nationally. Some of it is accurate, but some of it is way off the mark. For some reason the pessimistic view of Western New York seems to dominate. We didn’t go to four straight Super Bowls; we LOST four straight Super Bowls. We don’t have great local skiing/snowboarding sites, we have awful weather. We don’t live somewhere where natural disasters rarely happen, we live somewhere with high taxes.

October 12, 2011 Ryan Miller and the Sabres are back in town, after picking up two wins overseas. This Friday the Sabres open up their home schedule against the scary (or maybe not so much) Hurricanes. Miller has looked solid in net thus far and hockey fans in Buffalo are ready once again to hear that "ping off the pipe".
