Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong went to rehab smack dab in the middle of the band's release schedule for its trio of albums '¡Uno!,' '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!' You know it must have been bad for him to have pulled out of promoting and supporting the trilogy. Turns it was bad. Really bad.
Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day played himself in a super fun cameo in 'This Is 40,' the latest Judd Apatow coming-of-middle-age film starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Sadly, the hilarious scene landed on the cutting-room floor. You can still watch it, though, as it's turned up online.
Any way you slice it, rehab is serious stuff. But Billie Joe Armstrong's current trip to an undisclosed facility to deal with unspecified substance abuse issues may be way more serious than it seemed, as Green Day bandmate Mike Dirnt has come out to say that Billie's "life is in danger."
