America is known for its obesity crisis and penchant for lounging on the couch instead of getting up and doing anything physical. As it turns out, some cities perpetuate that stereotype more than others.

So, you think the people in your town are nice, do you? Well, how do they stack up against the rest of the country?
According to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the national median household income level ($50,502) diminished for the second year in a row, falling to 8 percent below what it was before the economic downturn in 2007. This decrease was felt across the board, even in the country’s wealthiest areas.
Numbers and charts are usually boring things reserved for sales meetings and discussions about market influence and other corporate blah blah blah. But, today? Today the numbers and charts show that here in America, we are blessed with the cheapest beer on the planet.

As the saying goes, nothing's more American than apple pie. But if a new list of the nation's top 10 favorite snack foods is any indication, it may soon be replaced by deliciously salty treats.
It appears that no matter how delicious the food at your favorite restaurant seems to be, it has nothing to do with how the business operates on the inside. Recently, a pro-worker group called Restaurant Opportunities Centers United produced a guide–mentioned in NY Times Columnist Mark Bittman‘s column–that lists many of America’s most popular restaurants with the purpose of letting you know just how badly the employees of that restaurant are treated.
The number of obese children in the US has tripled since 1970. About one out of every three kids in America is severely overweight.
This data means that obesity-related diseases that are usually only found in adults are being diagnosed more frequently in children and that these kids need to lose weight.
The Legendary folk group America plays the Erie County Fair Grandstand tonight. Sure, they're a poor man's Crosby, Stills and Nash...and yes, "Horse with No Name" may have the stupidest lyrics in rock history (I've been through the Desert on Horse with No Name, and there ain't no one for to give me no pain...that's not even a sentence). Hell, only one of the members is actually from America. But America certainly is a guilty pleasure. And nobody in folk rock history rocked the casual beard and long hair better!
