The secret about how people really feel about their significant other is out.

A new survey of nearly 100,000 people from all across the globe reveals not everyone is so honest with their partner.

The research found 43% of men and 33% of women are hiding a major secret from their partner. It’s not just unhappy couples, either. It turns out that, among couples considered happiest, 27% are keeping secrets.

Not all is so bad in the relationship realm, however. The study concluded that 48% of men and 28% of women have fallen in love at first sight. And love seems to be somewhat of an epidemic in the US, with 62% of people in relationships classified as “happiest” and another 14% "extremely happy." And what do these happy couples claim is the most satisfying aspect of their relationship? Forty percent say communication.

Still, we Americans want the flame of love to remain lit once it’s been set. Twenty percent of women claim they are bothered “a lot” that their partner isn’t more romantic. Perhaps surprisingly, 44% of men said the same thing.
