Contrary to reports that surfaced on Tuesday (Oct. 30), Steven Tyler has not split from his fiance Erin Brady. A spokesman for the band, via statement, called the rumors “absolutely false and misleading.”

Yesterday, the New York Post quoted a "music insider" who said that the couple, who got engaged in December, had split due to Tyler's attempts to stay sober while on the road with Aerosmith. “Steven has been trying to maintain his lifestyle and to stay clean,” the source said. “The tour is really important to him and the band. So he decided to end it.”

However, the spokesman did not deny that all isn't exactly well with the couple. “Just as any couple goes through trials and tribulations in a relationship, Steven and Erin are asking for their privacy at this time," the statement read. "They are engaged to be married and each is committed to their sobriety.”

Should the couple get married, it will be the third for the 64-year old Tyler, who is 26 years older than the 38-year old Brady.
