Steve Gleason Introduces Pearl Jam On Stage [VIDEO]

Steve Gleason, former New Orleans Saints player and friend of Pearl Jam, had the honor of introducing the band on stage this past weekend at the VooDoo Music Festival in the Big Easy.

So, you are probably thinking “What’s so special about that? An athlete is friends with a band.” What you may not know is that Gleason is battling ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Gleason, who would never think twice about going after guys much bigger than him, is now confined to a motorized wheelchair and has been given only a few years to live. This has not gotten in the way of Steve living his life the way he wants to live it, and as you will see in the video below, he is a role model to many. Including his own heroes.
