Something’s Fishy Here
Let me start by saying that I don’t eat fish. Not even fish sticks. I find the smell gross and the taste and texture even worse. That being said, I still don’t understand why anyone would like anchovies. What brings this up? I’m glad you asked. I went out on a limb and ordered a Caesar salad at a local restaurant this week. I blame myself for not asking if there were anchovies in the dressing, but I didn’t want to seem picky in front of my colleagues, who were already harassing me for not liking anything on the menu. Lesson learned. Yuck.
So I ask, anchovies, really?
Let’s first judge a book by its cover, shall we? They are ugly. Super ugly. And scary looking. If you’re from Buffalo, you’ve probably seen those super-huge and disgusting centipedes roaming around your basement. Don’t they bear a striking resemblance to anchovies? Would you eat that centipede? I don’t think so.
Next, the thing I hear most from fish lovers is that they enjoy such-and-such because “it doesn’t taste fishy.” So if fish eaters don’t even enjoy a fishy taste, who in the world enjoys the fishiest fish taste of all?
