The Buffalo Bills have decided to part ways with longtime punter Brian Moorman. It's a shocking move, but Moorman's play has tailed off this season with less punts landing inside the 20 yard line. Still, Moorman was the Bills best player for many seasons (I know that's sad in itself), and has long been regarded one of the more consistant punters in the league. He has a heck of a leg, averaging over 45 yards a punt this season and it's surprising the Bills weren't willing to give him more time to come around. Instead they will be turning to rookie punter,  Shawn Powell. No pressure there Shawn.

Anybody else think Moorman got a raw deal? He's was making $1.43 million this season to punt the ball and was a free agent at the end of the season. Weird thing is the Bills still have to pay him, so it's not like they are saving any money on the move. Powell is an untested rookie, and never showed in preseason he would fare any better on directional punts. In fairness to the Bills, perhaps they wanted to give Moorman a chance to land with another team this year. Unfortunately for Moorman, he will likely always be remembered for getting "JACKED UP" by Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins in 2006 Pro Bowl.
