See the Cast of ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ Then and Now

In ‘Can’t Hardly Wait,’ graduating high school seniors get drunk, hook up and enter into romantic entanglements during a raucous house party.
The 1998 comedy features quite a few familiar faces — although some weren’t so familiar at the time. See what the stars of ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ are up to these days.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Amanda Beckett

Then: In âCanât Hardly Wait.â Love Hewitt was Amanda Beckett, a prom queen who was just unceremoniously dumped by her boyfriend. Hewitt, 19 at the time, got her start on âKids Incorporated,â and was best known for playing Sarah Reeves on âParty of Fiveâ and spin-off show âThe Time of Your Life.â
Now: A television star almost her entire career, between 2005 and 2010 Love Hewitt was the lead on âGhost Whisperer.â These days the 33-year-old stars on âThe Client Listâ and plays a recurring character on âHot In Cleveland.â
Ethan Embry, Preston Meyers

Then: Ethan Embry was Preston Meyers, a sensitive high school senior who wants to declare his love for Amanda before leaving for college. A competitive gymnast as a child, Embry had previously appeared in movies such as âThat Thing You Doâ and âVegas Vacation,â in which he played Rusty Griswold.
Now: Besides âCanât Hardly Wait,â Embry is probably most famous for his role as Declan Giggs on the Showtime series âBrotherhood.â Since that ended he has been a consistent TV guest star, most recently on âGreyâs Anatomy.â Next year the 34-year-old will star in the thriller âThe House Across The Streetâ with Eric Roberts.
Charlie Korsmo, William Lichter

Then: Korsmo played revenged-minded (and hilariously inebriated) geek William Litcher in âCanât Hardly Wait.â It was the last movie role for the prolific child actor, who between 1990 and 1991 had big roles in âDick Tracy,â âMen Donât Leave,â âHook,â Heat Wave,â ‘The Doctor’ and âWhat About Bob?â
Now: Korsmo was quite the dedicated student in real life as well, and earned a bachelor’s degree from MIT and a law degree from Yale. The 34-year-old is currently a professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lauren Ambrose, Denise Fleming

Then: In âCan’t Hardly Wait,â Ambrose was reluctant party-goer Denise Fleming. The redhead got her start in the theater and her first movie was âIn and Out’ in 1997.
Now: Ambrose is best known for playing Claire Fisher on the HBO funeral parlor drama âSix Feet Under.â Since that show ended, sheâs been a recurring character on âTorchwoodâ and starred in the mini-series ‘Coma.’ The 34-year-old lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts with her husband and son.
Peter Facinelli, Mike Dexter

Then: Facinelli was Mike Dexter, a bullying jock who dumps Amanda because heâd been told he should keep his options open for college. He had previously been in movies such as âTouch Meâ and âFoxfire.â
Now: When Facinelli isnât playing Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the âTwilightâ saga heâs playing Dr. Fitch Cooper on âNurse Jackie.â The 38-year-old was married to actress Jennie Garth until earlier this year, when the couple filed for divorce.
Seth Green, Kenny Fisher

Then: You probably remember Green from âCanât Hardly Wait,â where he played Kenny Fisher, a high school senior obsessed with hip hop culture and finding a girl who would actually have sex with him. Green had made his film debut at age 10 in âHotel New Hampshireâ and was playing Oz on âBuffy the Vampire Slayerâ when âCanât Hardly Waitâ was released.
Now: Green voices major parts in both âRobot Chicken,â which he co-created, and âFamily Guy.â This year he also starred in the movie âThe Story of Lukeâ and made a guest appearance on âFranklin & Bash.â
Jason Segel, Watermelon Guy

Then: Jason Segel made his film debut in âCanât Hardly Waitâ as âWatermelon Guy.” The next year he began playing Nick Andopolis in the short-lived but critically acclaimed Judd Apatow comedy-drama âFreaks and Geeks.â
Now: Segel plays Marshall Ericksen on âHow I Met Your Mother,â and has headlined such films as âForgetting Sarah Marshallâ and âThe Five Year Engagement.â He also wrote and starred in 2011âs âThe Muppets.â The 32-year-old is currently dating actress Michelle Williams.
Melissa Joan Hart, Yearbook Girl

Then: Hart was the painfully annoying Yearbook Girl in âCanât Hardly Wait.â It was a bit of stunt casting for the 21-year-old, who was a big (and presumably not annoying) star for her lead roles on the Nickelodeon shows âClarissa Explains Allâ and âSabrina, the Teenage Witch.â
Now: These days Hart stars alongside Joey Lawrence on the creatively titled ABC Family series ‘Melissa & Joey.â The 36-year-old also has three children with her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson.
