Rush have uncovered one of their early, and seemingly forgotten, songs for their upcoming career-spanning video box set 'R40.' The song, 'I've Been Running,' was recorded in 1974 with the band's original drummer, John Rutsey.

'I've Been Running' sounds a little like the music the Canadian trio released on its self-titled debut from 1974. It's a more straightforward rocker than the proggier material they'd explore later, when Neil Peart -- who wrote the lyrics to most of the band's best-known songs -- replaced Rutsey later that same year.

The video was shot at Ontario's Laura Secord Secondary School, and is one of the rarities found on the bonus disc of 'R40,' which comes out on Nov. 10. It's part of an eight-song set that stands as one of the earliest filmed performances of the group.

The box set, which will be available on DVD and Blu-ray, includes eight previously released concert films from the '00s: ‘Rush in Rio’ (2003), ‘R30′ (2009), ‘Snakes & Arrows Live’ (2008), ‘Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland‘ (2011) and ‘Clockwork Angels Tour‘ (2013).

Rush are planning on hitting the road next year for a new tour, according to guitarist Alex Lifeson, to celebrate 40 years with Peart. Hopefully, sometime after that, they'll get to work on a new album. Their most recent, 'Clockwork Angels,’ was released in 2012.
