Another bites the dust. On the heels of Sears, Payless and Radio Shack another national retailer is closing its doors across the country. rue21 announced they will be closing around 400 out of 1,218 stores in 48 states. rue21 did send out a tweet that said "It’s true – we are closing some stores". It was followed by a link that brings up the stores in your area, some marked with "permanently closed". They also issued a Press Release saying "It was a difficult but necessary decision. But the good news is we still have hundreds of locations across the country, and our website rue21.com, open for business!" Also included in the announcement was a 30% off coupon code on purchases on $50 or more, but the code wont be accepted in the stores that are closing.

While none off these stores have officially been announced as the stores that are closing, these are the stores that are believed to be closing. According to USA Today, some stores that were marked "closing store" over the weekend had lost that marking Tuesday morning. It seems rue21 is making difficult to figure out exactly which of their locations are closing.

So here is a list of stores in WNY that are believed to be closing:

Shoppes At Hamburg
5350 Southwestern Blvd.
Hamburg, NY

Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls
1620 Military Road
Niagara Falls, NY

Olean Mall
400 N Union Street
Olean, NY

Quaker Crossing Retail Center
3445 Amelia Dr.
Orchard Park, NY

These are the stores that are believed to be closing however, the only store currently marked "permanently closed" on their website is the Hamburg location. The article will be updated as more information comes out form Rue 21.
