Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame Inductees: Who’s Tom Waits? [VIDEO]
Tonight, the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame gets some new members. Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Dr. John, Darlene Love and Tom Waits. One of the biggest complaints about the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame are some of the glaring omissions . Neil Diamond was passed over for years. But how can anyone argue that Sweet Caroline is one of the greatest sing-a-long’s ever written. Obviously, Rock Hall Voters have the same attitude as the guys that passed over Andre Reed. Diamond’s resume includes smash hits in four decades, some as a performer, some as a songwriter. Not many know that Diamond wrote “I’m a Believer”, Deep Purple’s “Kentucky Woman” and UB40′s “Red, Red Wine.”
So why does the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame get it wrong so much. Not going to argue with the inclusion of Alice Cooper and his band who brought a virtual horror-flick to the stage every night, but have you ever heard Tom Waits? This guys music is wack!!! Not sure why he’s a rock-n-roll hall of famer though, more of a fringe artist really. But for some reason, lots of people love this guy and he’s managed to mop up a bunch of grammy awards in the process. He’s been compared to Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan (Yea, if Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan sucked!). You have to check out the video and judge for yourself, but I guarantee it will make your trachea hurt. I’ve also included videos from the other Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Inductees. Who do you think is missing from the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and do you think this year’s class is deserving?
