With the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees officially locked in, we’re already turning our attention towards the next class! A band is deemed eligible for consideration as a nominee 25 years after their first recording, which can either be a full length album, EP or even a significant single. So, in these cases, we're looking at bands who released their first recording in 1992.

While the Rock Hall is notoriously stringent on their guidelines, often overlooking some of the most impactful, influential, pioneering and successful acts this world has ever known, the purpose of this list is merely to look at which bands will be considered eligible to be nominated in the fall of 2017 as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2018. We know that a few of these acts have no chance to ever make it into the Rock Hall.

One of the biggest groups that will be eligible for nomination and, in our opinion, is an absolute, inarguable shoo-in is Rage Against the Machine. The rap-rockers took the world by storm with their politically-charged lyrics aimed at the heart of the most burdening issues of government. Their self-titled debut became an instant classic and gave voice to a disenfranchised public desperately looking for a leader, or group of them, to rally behind in a common message.

Obviously, there are a ton of acts who have already been eligible who can be nominated again, but check out the gallery above to see all of the Rock + Metal Acts Who'll Become Eligible for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nomination Next Year!
