Return to Winnipeg Puts Hockey World Right Again
Imagine if Buffalo had lost the Sabres? What damage that would have done to the pride of Western New York. Now imagine that they had been gone for 15 years. Manitoba must be very happy today after the NHL cleared the way for the sale of the Atlanta Thrashers to True North Sports in Winnepeg. Now somebody tell me how we can get Hockey back in Hartford? The only bad news is that the Winnipeg team can't call themselves the Jets, that moniker is still owned by Phoenix. Still, hockey in Winnipeg is the way it should be. I never understood why the NHL and commissioner Garry Bettman felt it necessary to move NHL franchises to warm weather climates who don't give a rat's ass about hockey. Atlanta, Florida, Phoenix...How's that business model going for you Gary? Maybe the Jets name will be available after all.
