Remember when REM was the biggest band in the world?

Before they put out four mellow CDs in a row, one sleepier than the next, always looking for that laid-back vibe?

It seems that the band remembers those days and wants them back again.

REM is said to be writing new material, some rockin', some mellow, but all new and good.

It might not be the end of the world as we know it, but Jack feels fine.
