Places to Play For Those With Sensory Sensitivity In Buffalo

This weekend was dreary, cold and rainy.  We were trying to figure out something fun to do inside, so my boyfriend and I brought his kids to Skyzone.  I had never been there before, and everyone had a blast!  One cool thing I noticed was a sign that said they offered “Sensory Sunday” for kids with sensory sensitivity.  The lights are dimmed and music is lowered or turned off.

Then this morning, I saw on the news that Chuck E. Cheese also offered “Sensory Sensitive Sundays“, so that kids affected by sensory issues can have the same amount of fun!

I asked you for other places that offered these types of special hours or days for families.  Here are a few you mentioned!

Thanks to Samantha from North Boston for letting us know about this one!

According to their website (click the name above),

Sensational Fun, Inc. is a nonprofit community organization serving the Buffalo, New York area.  We are dedicated to filling in the recreational gaps that exist for children with disabilities and their families.

Gabriella from Tonawanda shared this one.

The lights are up, the sound is down, and kids can get up, dance, walk, shout, sing…whatever!

Available on the 2nd and 4th Saturday (family friendly) and Tuesday evenings (mature audiences) of every month.

Kids can sit where ever they’re comfortable, and move around as much as they want!  Noise muffling headsets and a “calming space” are available.

Sensory-sensitive performances are Sundays at 10am with tickets just $5.  (click the link above for shows)

Thanks, Audry from Cheektowaga for this one!

SN@P stands for “Special Needs at Play”, and is offered Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4-5pm for kids 12 and under.

The music is softer, and participants are limited.
