Pirates and Cornmazes, Oh My!
Another beautiful day for fall in Western New York! Don’t sit at home today! DVR the football game and get out and try some of these Jacktivities!
If you have little children and you want to check out Halloween stuff that isn’t scary then the Holiday Hollow Halloween and Pirate Festival is the place you’ll want to be at! The festival is a non-scary fun filled event that’s setup like a Renaissance Fair. The event has hours of entertainment that will keep you busy the entire time. During the festival they have 7 live shows and a dozen of other attractions for you to venture through. Some of the attractions include the comic Haunted Forest Adventure, famous Captain Hook & Mr. Smee outdoor comedy action sword fighting pirate show on a 50 foot pirate ship set, the Talking Pumpkins, and my favorite the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Show. Along with those activities make sure you check out Hook’s Maze, the pumpkins, and food! The Halloween and Pirate Festival is located on Main Street in Corfu and is open weekends till the end of October and on Columbus day!
Then there’s always the Ressler’s Corn Maize in Arcade that is definite must! I have to say this maize is one of my favorites that I keep going to back to year after year. Not only do they have different corn mazes that you can venture through (oh and one in particular is actually shaped like the WYRK logo!) but they have a ton of other activities that everyone in the family will love! When you walk in you can’t help but see the giant corn box they have set up right there. Even my boyfriend was caught digging around in the corn box with their digger they have set up there. He loved it! Then there’s a jumping pillow. It’s this 70 x 30 canvas pillow to jump on and this time you’re mother won’t yell at you for jumping on the good pillows! Finally they have built a corn maize bridge just so you can take a look from above at the corn. If end up only getting lost in one corn maze this year my suggestion is definitely Ressler’s! The Maize is located on East Arcade Rd in Arcade and is open Wednesday through Sunday.
