Philadelphia Flyers v Buffalo Sabres - Game Four

Jason Pominville's First Period goal was all the Sabres needed to beat the Philadelphia Flyers and tie the Series at Two. That's because Ryan Miller was perfect again, stopping 32 shots and weathering the best Philadelphia could muster.

Miller took a lot of heat for his play in game three, but appeared focused and motivated for this one. His best save coming against former teammate Danny Briere in the 3rd Period . Briere was all alone in front after a Sabres turnover. He had  all-day to pick a spot on the Sabres goalie. But Miller's patience paid off, letting Briere make the first move and robbing him with the glove. The crowd rose to their feet and chanted Miller's name.

"I was chanting his name too," Ruff joked. The Sabres could not score on a 5 minute power play to start the third period and missed several chances early on.

" I think we could have buried the Flyers in the first period" Ruff Said. "but you miss those opportunities and it becomes a real tight game".

Both Sabres wins in the series have  come by Miller Shutouts. Miller said before the game that it might take "boring hockey" to beat the Flyers. While the Sabres were back on their heels at times, the team managed to keep the Flyers under control. The Sabres now head back to Philadelphia for Game Five on Friday Night at 7:30 PM. A good Friday indeed.
