The Niagara County Fair begins today and runs through Sunday, August 7th. The event logo features a creepy, smiling horse riding a fair ride while holding a ribbon....we're in.

The fair runs Wednesday to Saturday 10 A.M. to 11. P.M. and Sunday 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. Admission is $2 dollars per person. In classic fashion, the fair will feature amusement rides, 4-H exhibits, farm animals, musical entertainment, and a chicken barbecue. Even more of a reason to go, this year the fair will feature a beer tent Friday and Saturday nights.

Wednesday night will feature an antique tractor parade at 7.P.M. and a greased pole contest later on. We had no idea what a greased pole contest was, we just assumed it was something that happened in the confines of your bedroom. So we scoured the depths of the internet (we googled it) and found it involves climbing or walking over a pole which has been greased...interesting. We provided a clip below so you can see it in action for yourself. Sunday will feature a classic car show which will mark the end of the fair..until next year. The fair is located at 4487 Lake Avenue in Lockport.
