1983 - The Michael Jackson-Paul McCartney duet "Say Say Say" hit number one on the pop singles chart.
       Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon" broke into the Top 40.
1985 - Aretha Franklin's album "Who's Zoomin' Who?" was certified Platinum.

1988 - Chicago's "Look Away" hit number one on the pop singles chart.

1990 - Janet Jackson was the big winner at the Billboard Awards, winning in eight categories.  New Kids On The Block and Phil Collins were also multiple award winners.
1992 - Madonna's single "Erotica" and En Vogue's single "Free Your Mind" were certified Gold.

1995 - HBO aired the special "Michael Jackson: One Night Only."
