In the summer of 1975, everything was about Jaws.
Some say Star Wars was the first real summer blockbuster film, but it was Jaws.
Lines around the block to see it and everyone was afraid to go in the water, even swimming pools.
Then, along came a novelty ‘song’ titled Mr. Jaws.
Dickie Goodman was the mastermind behind it and the formula was easy.
Ask a question, then have a line from a hit song answer, repeat.
Dickie had done this before and would do it again, but never with the success of Mr. Jaws.
This was a top 10 record in the summer of 1975.
“We’re here on the beach..”
Take it away Dickie!
