They can't bring it to you in 3D or IMAX just yet, but if you're dying for an early taste of 'Metallica: Through the Never,' the guys in the band have posted a couple of new clips for you to watch.

The metal titans' first movie stars Dane DeHaan ('Chronicle,' 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2') as a Metallica roadie named Trip who's sent out on one very important errand during the night of a big show -- and then, as you'll see in these clips (one above, one below), things start to go seriously awry.

Part concert movie, part 'The Warriors'-style urban thriller, it's got a little something for everyone. And with a soundtrack stuffed with songs like 'Ride the Lightning,' 'Master of Puppets' and 'Enter Sandman,' it promises an audio feast for Metallica fans. As the official synopsis promises:

Featuring dazzling pyrotechnics, the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built and imagery drawn from the band’s trailblazing iconography, the immersive 360-degree show creates a mind-bending, ear-shattering mirror image of the destruction and chaos of Trip’s journey. ‘Metallica Through the Never’’s state-of-the-art 3D photography, captured using up to 24 cameras simultaneously, engulfs audiences in one of the most innovative and exciting cinematic experiences ever imagined.

'Metallica: Through the Never' is due on IMAX screens on Sept. 27.
