Matt Kenseth passed an out-of-fuel Kevin Harvick late and held on to win the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. With the victory, Kenseth captured the second race of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship and guaranteed his advancement to the second round of the playoff series.

Denny Hamlin finished second with Joey Logano, Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards rounding out the top five finishers.

Harvick, who led most of the race, fell to a 21st place finish. He must now win next week at Dover to advance when the 16-driver Chase field is cut to 12.

Kyle Busch, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer are also in danger of elimination next week.

The Dover 400 is scheduled for next Sunday in Delaware.
