In Friday morning (February 22) press conference, former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff thanked the current and past owners of the team, the players and, of course, the fans.

In an emotional speech, Ruff thanked the Knox family for drafting him as a player in 1979, the Rigases and Tom Golisano, as well as Terry Pegula, current Sabres owner.

Ruff made sure to thank the fans -- they were the ones that kept him going, whether it was when the team wasn't doing well or when his daughter was sick. Regardless of where his career takes him, Ruff will continue to live in WNY and will always call Buffalo his home.

Best of luck to you Lindy. You are a class act and always have been. You will be missed behind the bench.
