Leaked Documents Point to Fallout 4′s Existence

Fallout 3
Bethesda

Though Bethesda didn’t announce a new entry in its Fallout series at VGX as rumored, some new documents from a casting call seemingly prove Fallout 4 is really happening. It’s just a matter of when.

If you ever wondered how actors were found for video game roles, it appears developers still use the same methods popularized by film and television productions. Such is the case with Bethesda and the casting call that appeared to be for Fallout 4.

Kotaku obtained documents it believes are tied to a new entry in the series, passed onto them by someone who apparently tried out for a role in the supposed sequel. In a handful of script pages, allusions are made to a futuristic Boston and locations like the Institute, the Fallout version of MIT. Many of these details were suspected last year, when news that Bethesda was scouting the Boston area for locations made the rounds. The developer remained quiet on the subject, but it now sounds like the next entry in the sci-fi franchise will take us to the northeast.

Elsewhere in the script, which may or may not have been drafted specifically for the casting call, characters and factions are named. Additionally present are the series’ trademark opening lines, “War. War never changes.” The script sides were made available for both potential male and female candidates, though it’s unclear just how much of what’s present will actually make it into the final game.

For now, Bethesda continues to keep its Fallout plans a secret. Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer to find out more, but more importantly, hopefully we won’t have to wait long to actually play Fallout 4.
