Jon Bon Jovi’s Daughter Arrested For Heroin After Apparent Overdose
Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, the 19-year-old daughter of Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, was arrested this morning (November 15) on drug charges at her college in Clinton, N.Y., after an apparent overdose.
Police in Kirkland, N.Y., were called to Hamilton College were Bongiovi was arrested after a quantity of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was discovered in her dorm room. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana, and criminally using drug paraphernalia, all of which are class-A misdemeanors. She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, which is a violation. She was released on an appearance tickets and must appear in court at a later date.
A rep for Jon Bon Jovi said the singer has no comment on the incident at this time.
Police initially arrived at the dorm in response to a report of a female who had allegedly overdosed on heroin and was unresponsive. A male student, Ian S. Grant, was arrested at that scene and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after police discovered a small quantity of heroin. Police later returned with a search warrant, and when the additional drugs were discovered, Stephanie was arrested.
Police tell the Associated Press that the female who overdosed was Stephanie and that she is now recovering at an unnamed hospital.
