It's hard to believe it's been 33 years since John Lennon's tragic death.

Ask most people how they heard about it, and they will always say they were watching Monday Night Football.

Not me, I was in bed listening to the FM radio on my headphones. The DJ came on and said, "I hate to say this, but damn, I just got word that John Lennon's been shot, that's all I know right now."

It wasn't until the next morning that I found out he had died. Nothing had moved me at the age of 17 like the death of John Lennon. Thirty-three years later, it still makes me pause and wonder would could have been.

For those of you who are old enough to remember, here is what happened on Monday Night Football.

Remember, in 1980 there was no Facebook, no 24-hour news, no Internet. This is how 90 percent of the world found out the tragic news.
