Jessica Pegula, Daughter of Terry + Kim, Wins at Grand Slam Debut
Buffalo represent! Jessica Pegula made her Grand Slam debut one for the ages as she upset Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium, who is ranked 55th in the world, in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.
Her next challenge will be another test, as she will play Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia, who upset No. 7, in the second round as well as big name Ana Ivanovic. Pegula is currently ranked 260th in the world after a set back last year due to a knee injury.
Her dad, Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula, was on hand to watch his daughter win the match in New York Monday afternoon.
