The long-awaited Janis Joplin movie starring one of Hollywood's biggest names, Amy Adams, just took a big step forward by landing a highly regarded director.

According to ScreenCrush, acclaimed director Jean Marc-Vallee ('Dallas Buyers Club,' 'Wild') has agreed to helm the biopic, which will be titled 'Get It While You Can.' Last year, Vallee helped guide both Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto to Oscar wins for their roles in ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ and Reese Witherspoon is currently earning some early awards buzz for her part in ‘Wild.’

Obviously Adams -- a five-time Oscar nominee, most recently for her work in 2013's 'American Hustle' -- brings some serious credibility to the project as well. A release date has yet to be announced for the movie, which is set to film in the middle of 2015.
