Forget gold, silver or bronze -- Jack's Ringers took Blue this weekend as they won the annual Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament!

Some 800 players on 120 teams made their way to the new location at Buffalo Riverworks for the two-day tourney featuring classic backyard hockey.

In past years, the weather was a problem, and many games had to be cancelled. Luckily, this year, brand-new rinks were constructed, featuring over 30 miles of piping in the refrigeration systems. It looks like things have all been worked out, and hopefully the Labatt Blue Pond Hockey Tournament has finally found a permanent home.

Now, how about a curling tournament next year for the rest of us that still like to drink a few beers and be "athletic"?
