According to Periodico Digital, Owens was found in his hotel room in Puebla, Mexico, this morning. Owens, who has played with White since 2012, was on tour with White's band for the past few months.

White issued a statement on his Third Man Records site under the title 'We Love You, Ikey.' It reads:

It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah "Ikey" Owens. He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.

Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White's backing band ...

We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.

Before joining White's touring band, Owens played with the Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents and other groups. He was born in Long Beach, Calif., and made a name for himself playing with the Long Beach Dub Allstars.

Over the years, he played keys on records by Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Mastodon, El-P and Saul Williams, among many others.

White's statement also indicates that "out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been canceled."
