It’s the holiday season! If you’re like me then you finished all of your holiday shopping and now just sitting around waiting for the snow to begin! Get out of the house instead of being a couch potato and have some fun!

Definitely a holiday favorite mine is the Festival of Lights happening at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. Pack in your family and friends into the car and head over to the Festival of Lights happening now till the end of December. You’ll take an amazing drive through a 2 mile spectacle of over a million dazzling animated colored lights filling a brilliant path of light displays. After you’ve finished your ride make sure you stick around for more holiday fun! Be sure to have the children write a letter to Santa because they will get the chance to mail it from their Post Office. Along with that the kids will get the chance to hang out with some of their favorite holiday characters, see santa’s favorite reindeers, and even take a ride on the North Pole Express. The fund doesn’t stop there even! Make sure you swing by the Holiday Magic Show with Jingle and even have the kids interact with the kids show Everyone’s a Winner. Spend some time at this one of kind WNY event that is definitely a family tradition.

Then this weekend and next weekend for the adults is Holiday Happening on the Niagara Wine Trail USA. This one is one of my favorites on the Niagara Wine Trail. You’ll celebrate the holiday season by collecting a different ornament at each winery on the wine trail. By the end of the trail you’ll have a complete set! If you buy tickets this weekend they are valid for all six days of the event. Yeah it’s a pretty sweet deal. You can go this weekend and then head back up to complete your ornament set next weekend! Tickets will also include a wine tasting at each winery and a commemorative wine glass from your starting winery. This weekend and next make time for Holiday Happenings on the Niagara Wine Trail USA.
One last thing – if you know me you know I have an incredibly big spot in my heart for animals Big or small, cat or dog, it’s always been my mission to make sure that every animal is able to feel love and care at some point in my life. When my friend Colleen sent me this information I couldn’t help but share it with everyone. If you can possibly help out it would be greatly appreciated! Canine & Company will be accepting new, unwrapped dog and cat toys, as well as monetary donations December 1st through December 15th in our lobby at 5952 Transit Rd Depew. All proceeds to benefit the Erie County SPCA. Please give if you can and help spread some holiday cheer to all the homeless pets spending Christmas in a shelter.
