Earlier this week Wayne Gretzky turned 50, today Dominik Hasek turns 46. Turns out that Hasek and Gretzky were destined to be superstars in their sport because they were born in January. If you ever read Malcolm Gladwell's book, "Outliers", he claimed that players born from January thru March had a higher degree of success in making it to the NHL. Despite the January Kids being two of the best hockey players of the modern era,  a recent article in the Toronto Globe and Mail suggests that Gladwell's hypothesis was crap. Hasek continues to do the flops at an elite level playing for Moscow and was just named player of the week. And while his relationship with the city of Buffalo was often strained, there's no doubt he was the most talented player to ever wear a Sabres Uniform.
