With plenty of pyrotechnics and volume to spare, Guns N' Roses returned to Las Vegas on May 21 to begin their second residency at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The Las Vegas Sun covered the show with a column that offered a compare-and-contrast of sorts between GNR's return to the city and the new run of 'Mamma Mia!' shows that's also going on. Saying that the band "has fulfilled its promise to deliver the heat, with explosions punctuating most songs," the report describes a stage show that includes "glowing green lasers" as well as an assortment of video screens depicting a "documentary-style treatment of the musicians along with such graphics of the band’s logo and cityscapes of the Strip ... if you became bored with any of that, a quartet of highly gymnastic strippers in tight black leather and lace spin around poles at the sides of the stage."

Setlist.fm reports a 29-song set that included an introduction from Nicolas Cage as well as a snippet of the Blue Oyster Cult classic 'Godzilla,' presumably in honor of the box office-topping new movie whose action sequences include a rampage through Vegas, and an assortment of fan favorites such as 'Estranged,' 'Sweet Child O' Mine,' and the encore-closing 'Paradise City.'

The band's nine-show run is set to conclude on June 7.
