You’ve got to be pretty excited about the new Green Day trilogy. Now we find that a North American Tour is in the works, and the closest it comes to Buffalo is Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena on January 13, just two days before the band releases the album ‘¡Tré!’. Of course you’ll already have ‘¡Uno!,’ and ‘¡Dos!’ loaded into your iPod, but will you have tickets? They go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. at livenation.com, or you can try to win them from Jack FM in our Freeloader Club.

From what we’ve heard of the new album, Green Day just keeps getting better. The first song released over the summer, “Oh, Love,” has an infectious groove, and the follow-up track, “Kill the DJ,” is pretty rockin', too. The trilogy looks like an ambitious project that might even top their first concept album ‘American Idiot.' The band continues to take creative chances to remain relevant, a notable accomplishment considering that they're a punk band for all intents and purposes.

Either way, the trilogy ranks as one of the must-have albums of fall, and the tour is sure to give you a heavy dose of the new material (even if you haven’t heard them all yet by the time they get to Rochester).
