There’s nothing like experiencing or witnessing true love. It’s painfully beautiful, a once-in-a-lifetime moment that many are desperate to find.

Taylor Morris and Danielle Kelly have found that true love, and it’s hard not to smile at how beautifully in love this couple is.

But there’s a twist: Morris lost his limbs while serving as a Navy EOD in Afghanistan. Kelly has stood by him through it all, even helping with his therapy sessions. The couple has been together for seven years. They don’t have plans to get married yet, but it’s clear this couple is meant to be.

Morris is from Cedar Falls, Iowa, and he joined the Navy in 2007, when he graduated from high school, with the goal of working in Special Operations. He found his passion, though, lay with working as a Navy EOD (or one of those guys who destroys and disposes of bombs). He was deployed in January of this year and was slated to return in August.

But he was injured in action on May 3 when he stepped on an IED. He sustained injuries to all four limbs; he lost both legs, his left arm from the bicep down, and his right hand. He is currently receiving medical care and rehab at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., according to his website.

Morris’ long-time friend, Tim Dodd, has photographed his recovery process and his life since the tragedy. You can see all the photos on his blog and website. I guarantee you haven’t seen anything like this.

You can check out the photo story, “A Love Story in 22 Pictures,” and read more about Morris’ story from his and his loved ones’ points of view. The heartwarming love story between Morris and Kelly has gone internet-viral; even Michelle Obama has called the couple an inspiration to us all.

(And I recommend listening to Frank Sinatra while viewing the pictures. Keep a box of tissues handy; I guarantee your eyes will not stay dry.)
