Of course, you want to get most of these done before Christmas to put you in the great holiday mood, so make sure you come back and check that you did each one. On the list there is something for everyone and some great ideas to do with the kids while they are on their Christmas breaks from school or on the weekends.

Happy Holidays!

  • Ice Skating

Obviously, this was going to be on our list. Whether it be downtown at the new Canalside rink, which has a new heating facility and new vendors for 2015 or at Rotary Rink in Fountain Plaza – this is a must do! Grab your hot chocolate before.

  • Carolcade

Honestly, this should be number one. Last year was East Aurora's biggest turnout for the event. The local band leader will stand in the middle of Main Street on a mini stage and lead the thousands of carolers for an hour.

Don't worry – they give you a program for lyrics. This year it is December 19.

  • Holiday Celebration + Tree Lighting

Canalside's 5th annual holiday celebration and tree lighting is Friday, December 4. Food, vendors and a whole lot of celebration happen to kick off the season downtown! Festivities get going at 5:00 p.m. and last until about 8 p.m.

  • Lancaster Fire Truck Parade

This one comes up quick every year. It's the 8th time that Lancaster has hosted the event and nearly every town in Western New York bring their decorated firetruck for the parade and contest. Make sure you come cheer on your town's truck. Festivities start at 6 pm.m and this year it is on November 28.

  • Festival of Lights

You've been there before and there's rarely a better light display around WNY. Hop in your car with the kids with some hot chocolate and enjoy nearly the two mile long trek of lights at the Fairgrounds.

  • Arcade + Attica Railroad

The Santa Train has certain dates throughout the month, but if you're in the area it's a great time to see Santa and all of his animals as well and of course, jump on the train!
